Ishaan Khatter will next be seen in Mira Nair's next which is an adaption of Vikram Seth's novel - A Suitable Boy. Though it was earlier reported that Ishaan would be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj's directorial rather than the international filmmaker's project, but later walked out of the same due to creative differences. But now that seems a story of the past and he is on board for Mira's directorial, which will also star the National Award-winning actress Tabu.

Ishaan who made his debut with Majid Majidi's Beyond The Clouds cannot wait to work with Mira and also shared his excitement. He said, "I hope I can satisfy Mira's vision and give the global audience the character they deserve in Maan Kapoor (Ishaan Khatter's character)." Whereas Tabu who previously worked with Mira Nair in The Namesake, said, "Having worked with Mira previously in The Namesake, I am looking forward to another creatively challenging experience."

Vikram Seth's novel A Suitable Boy tells the story of a spirited university student Lata (Tanya Aniktala, who came of age in 1951 in North India, the time when the country was going to the polls for its first democratic general elections. She is later seen embarking on her own journey of love and self-discovery and connects with wayward Maan Kapoor (Ishaan Khatter), through their siblings' marriage. Maan, much to his politician father's concern is determined to enjoy his life to the fullest and is also infatuated by a courtesan Saaeda Bai (Tabu).

Mira Nair in her interview promised to keep the dream of an alternate India alive in her film and also the history. She said, "I'm deeply honoured to be the one bringing this intimate, epic tale of an unseen India to the world." The film will go on floor next month and is also reported to be shot over streets, palaces and villages in Lucknow and Maheshwar.
