Actress Huma Qureshi is one of the most promising actresses in the film industry and with the film 'Partition: 1947', she has stepped into the international arena. In a recent interview, the actress said that she never went looking for an international project to work on and was simply contacted by Gurinder Chadha's casting director. "I didn't go looking for an international project or a Hollywood film. Gurinder Chadha was making a film about the Partition. She wanted an Indian actor. Her casting director sent me the script and asked me to read it and also send an audition tape," she said. After making her debut in 'Gangs Of Wasseypur', the actress has come a long way and made a name for herself in the film industry.

Talking about her journey so far in Bollywood, Huma revealed that she auditioned for all her roles until 2014 and has no issues with the process of auditioning. The film's director Gurinder Chadha is all praises for Huma Qureshi as she said that her facial features are perfect for a period film like Partition 1947. Gurinder was impressed by Huma's audition tape and immediately finalized her for the role of a Muslim girl working as a translator at Viceroy's House. Late Indian actor Om Puri also features in the film has some very great scenes according to the film's director. Other than Om Puri and Huma Qureshi, the film features actors like Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson, Manish Dayal and Neeraj Kabi in prominent roles.
