The first big Bollywood release of 2019, Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike received an excellent response and emerged as an all-time-blockbuster with the collections amounting to Rs 245.36 crore. The film was about the surgical strike conducted on Pakistan after the 2016 terror attack at Uri in Jammu and Kashmir. The film is now being re-released six months later on July 26.

Ronnie Screwvala, the producer of the film confirmed the news saying, "The idea of making the film was to instil a sense of pride in the hearts of every Indian and to highlight the incredible service of the armed forces for our nation. I'm honoured to be a part of this initiative wherein Uri will be showcased across 500 theatres in the state on Kargil Vijay Diwas."

The film got immensely popular and many people were heard screaming the line from the film "How's the Josh?" The film's director Aditya in an interview had revealed how Vicky wasn't too convinced about the dialogue initially and had even asked the director if the line could be changed. Aditya in an interview revealed that after they shot the line ‘How's the josh?' during the Myanmar sequence. Two minutes before the camera rolled, Vicky came to him and asked him to change the line because he thought somewhere the ‘feel' was not coming. He tried to explain to him that in order to motivate their team, army commanders talk like that, so they should give it a try. He yet remembers that when Vicky said that line for the first time, 30 members of their team had goosebumps on hearing it.

Vicky starred in various films and web series including, Sanju and Manmarziyaan but after his film Uri: The Surgical Strike, he was catapulted to the top league. Vicky is currently filming for Udham Singh biopic with Shoojit Sircar while he will also be seen in Bhoot - Part One: The Haunted House. He is also a part of Karan Johar's multi starrer Takht where he will be seen alongside Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt among others. He will also reunite with Uri director Aditya for an action-based superhero film set in modern times, Ashwatthama.
