When director Priyadrashan made ‘Hera Pheri' back in 2000 he may have not imagined it to become one of the most cult comedies of the industry starring Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, and Akshay Kumar in the iconic roles of Baburao, Shyam and Raju respectively.

Though the sequel was not perceived as well as the original film; the makers have decided to come back with the 3rd installment of the franchise. And much to the dismay of fan's, it was believed that Akshay Kumar will not be a part of this installment.

It is also reported that producer Firoz Nadiadwala as joined hands with director Indra Kumar for the third Hera Pheri.

However; a report in Mumbai Mirror has quoted a source saying," At present, the film is in the scripting stage. Indra Kumar has been working with his team of writers on the story since May last year and has already locked the first half, while the second half requires some more work. He will jump into it after the release of his upcoming directorial Total Dhamaal."

The source also divulged that the film faced immense delays because of the scripting process because the makers wanted the 3rd installment to match up to the original ‘Hera Pheri'. The source said," The delays happened due to issues in the script. Hera Pheri is an iconic franchise and the team is in no hurry to take it on the floors. Though everyone is excited, no one wants to compromise on the script for a substandard product to capitalize on the franchise's power."

Though there were rumors of Akshay Kumar moving out of the project due to a fall out with Firoz, it is believed that they have decided to bury the hatchet and collaborate for the classic comedy.

The third installment is set to go on floors by this year-end. Well, we certainly are immensely excited for the terrific trio to team up together and tickle every funny bone in us!
