The Pulwama attack brought back memories of Kargil War and other such incidents which shook the nation. While Bollywood celebrities have always talked openly and shared experiences about the past, Shekhar Kapur has now recalled the time when his mother saved them by playing dead.

"I was born in Lahore. My mother escaped massacre by hiding me n my sister under her body in a train to India. Playing dead. Most people were killed. One million people died in Partition. 10 million refugees. On both sides. India n Pakistan were created of the blood of one people" read his tweet earlier today.

Further tweeting about Pakistan he said, "#terrorism started within in Pakistan when the US used Pakistan to fight its proxy war against the Soviets in Afghanistan. The ISI created and trained Taliban with arms and funds from the US. Pakistan must weed out terrorism from within its borders or it will be destroyed itself."

Shekhar also tweeted about Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman who will now be handed to India after one of his stay in Pakistan.

Shekhar is a National Award winning filmmaker and has also received a BAFTA. He is the man behind the cult movie Masoom and Mr. India.
