Govinda recently made a shocking revelation as he claimed that he was offered the James Cameron's movie Avatar, which was not only a superhit but also went to become the highest-grossing Hollywood film, till Avengers: Endgame broke the record in 2019. Govinda was seen not only receiving backlash but was also trolled and mocked for his claims. One user even mocked him saying, "Govinda was offered the role of Iron man but he rejected as he doesn't fit in an iron suit." His daughter Tina informed the actor about the backlash he is receiving on social media and he now reacted to the same.

In his recent interview with a leading daily, he said, "I am not active on social media, but my daughter Tina keeps me in the loop. I am fine with people wondering how someone like Govinda could refuse a James Cameron film. I can understand where they are coming from. I respect that thought. They are entitled to have that opinion, but to say how come Govinda got that offer in the first place, is wrong. It's not like meri aukad nahi hai. It's prejudiced behaviour. Chai wala aagey kaise badh sakta hain? TV actors films mein kaise aa sakte hain? This is that same elitist, superiority complex. Yeh galat hai. Aapko vishwas nahi karna hai toh mat kijiye, but don't say things like this."

Govinda in his interview on the Rajat Sharma's show Aap Ki Adaalat shocked everyone when he claimed he was offered James Cameron's Avatar. He even also claimed that it was he who gave the title of the movie. He also revealed that he had told James Cameron that his film will not only run successfully in cinemas but will also take at least seven years to complete. But because he had to sit on a wheelchair and colour his body blue for 410 days he declined the offer.

Govinda on the work front was last seen in Rangeela Raja, which was written and produced by Pahlaj Nihalani. He has not announced any new projects as of yet.
