Despite her last film outing; ZERO, facing a major backlash from audiences and critics alike; Katrina Kaif was lauded for her performance in the film. Katrina has now devoted all of her time and energies to her next period drama ‘Bharat' opposite Salman Khan.

However; the actress was in news for other reasons too! It was alleged that Katrina was roped in for Remo D'souza's next dance film alongside Varun Dhawan. The film; that is touted as the biggest dance film ever made in India, however, saw Katrina's sudden exit just as Bharat saw the sudden exit of Priyanka Chopra from ‘Bharat'.

While; the makers of the dance film were quick to rope in Shraddha Kapoor as the films female lead and make an official announcement about the same; it still remained a buzzing question as to what made Katrina leave the film so unceremoniously.

Katrina; who had earlier stated date issues as the reason for walking out of the film, has finally broken her silence on the matter in a recent interview.

In conversation with a web portal; Katrina has revealed what the real reason was for leaving the film. The ‘Dhoom 3' actress said," I believe that everything comes to you what is meant to come and everything happens for the right reasons. It wasn't possible for me to do the film because of the time constraints which they had. Also, Bharat needs an Eid release which is in June and that is very critical for the film. Unfortunately, we couldn't fit in the time for that one."

Katrina has always been a lady in demand and is considered a bankable actress in the movie biz. As a result; it was also being contemplated that she would star opposite Akshay Kumar in Rohit Shetty's next venture ‘Sooryavanshi'. Katrina and Akshay were a much-loved pair back in the days of ‘Singh Is King'and ‘Namaste London'.

Commenting about the same; Katrina cleared the air saying," No, no, I have not signed any film after Bharat. I am only reading and listening to scripts. Right now my focus is only on Bharat. Bharat is quite a strong role and I am enjoying the whole process, from the prep work to shooting the major portion. The film pans across a few years. I am learning a lot. I am quite excited and having a fulfilling experience on sets."

Bharat is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and apart from Salman and Katrina the film also stars Sunil Grover, Tabu and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. The film is slated to release on Eid 2019.
