Anurag Basu who is currently filming what seems to be Life In A Metro sequel has another film Imli in his kitty. He and Kangana Ranaut were all set to begin shooting for it, but Kangana later walked out of the project. After Kangana announced that she isn't going to be a part of Anurag Basu's film as she has other things lined up, the makers were in search of another leading lady.

And now it is reported that Anurag Basu has found his leading lady in Deepika Padukone. Anurag Basu approached Deepika Padukone with the script after Kangana' exit and though she is currently filming Chhapaak, everything seems to be positive for the two. Kangana and Anurag Basu who also worked on other films such as Gangster and Life in a Metro previously, fans were eagerly waiting for their reunion. But the source stated, "Kangana Ranaut had walked out of filmmaker Anurag Basu's forthcoming movie Imli citing difference in opinion."

Earlier Anurag Basu denied that Kangana was opting out of his movie. The shoot was scheduled to start last November but it clashed with ‘Manikarnika - The Queen Of Jhansi,' and he got busy with another movie while Kangana too got occupied with 'Panga.'

Deepika has currently jetted off to New York for the MET Gala 2019, and on being back will return to shooting Chhapaak in Mumbai. Chhapaak is helmed by Meghna Gulzar and will also star Vikrant Massey and is set to hit theatres on January 10, 2020.
