The Filmfare Awards 2019 took places just a few days back and Raazi bagged the big awards this year. It won the Best Movie Award, Meghna Gulzar bagged Best Director award and even Alia Bhatt who was the main actress in the movie, took home the Best Actress award. And though Alia's fans are super excited about her big win, Deepika Padukone's fans were left disappointed. But in a competition, there can only be on a winner and Deepika knows it.

Fans took to social media to express their dismay while some even called out the awards and as a result, Deepika thought it was necessary to intervene. Deepika took to the comment section of one of her fan pages and apologised to her fans. She wrote, "To all my fans, I am sorry I let you all down and promise to work harder than ever before...#upwardsandonwards."

Deepika was nominated for Best Actress for her role in Padmaavat. And though it was one of the most challenging roles she's ever done, on set as well, even offset she went through hell with the Karni Sena who protested against with Karni Sena. And though she won an award for her performance at the Zee Cine Awards, she lost the best actress award to Alia at Filmfare.

Deepika's apology comment comes just as she dropped the first look of Chhapaak. She has been praised and appreciated by fans of her peers from Bollywood. Stars like Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt applauded Deepika's look in the movie. But her greatest cheerleader was Kangana Ranaut sister Rangoli, who took to Twitter and wrote, "No matter how unfair and unjust the world is we musn't reflect what we hate, this is commendable on @deepikapadukone and @meghnagulzar part, being an acid attack survivor I pledge to be their biggest cheerleader #Chhapaak."
