Since the ban on the usage of higher denomination notes was announced by the government on November 8th, the country has been facing severe cash crises. While the country is gearing up for a transition towards a Digital India, the common man has been struggling to withdraw money from the banks, such that the affect has reached even a star like Akshay Kumar. Akshay Kumar, who is known to be one of the country's highest tax-payers, commented on how he was affected by demonetization, “Even my staff wasn’t able to go to the cinema on their usual Sundays off because they couldn’t spare 500 bucks. I can only imagine how hard it’s hit many areas of India.” Commenting on it further, he added, “Everyone has had to sacrifice for the greater good. The movies will recover, eventually. But hats off to those that were hit the hardest, yet handled it so brilliantly.” Akshay Kumar was last seen as a naval officer in the August release Rustom, based on the popular Nanavati case, which clashed with Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro on Independence day weekend. He will be seen next in the February release 'Jolly LLB2' which is a sequel to Arshad Warsi starrer 'Jolly LLB'.
