After riding high on the success of his last directorial venture ‘Manmarziyaan' earlier this year; director Anurag Kashyap is all geared up for his next sports drama titled ‘Womaniya' featuring Tapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar.

However; now a report in a leading tabloid Mid-Day; has suggested that the film has been put on the back burner due to budget constraints.

Womaniya is based on the UP-based octogenarian sharpshooters Chandro and Prakashi Tomar and was to be directed by Tushar Hiranandani.

However; the report also suggests that Kashyap, the former co-founder of Phantom Films, has been struggling to keep his individual projects afloat ever since the production house was dissolved last year in October following sexual allegations against Vikas Bahl, a co-founder of the production house.

While; rumor has it that Kashyap had found producers in Reliance Films, the ever-increasing budget of the film has made the producers pull out.

A source close to the developments was also quoted saying," Taapsee and Bhumi were to prep for a month, following which the film was to be shot in Uttar Pradesh. The movie required antique weapons that were proving to be expensive. The makers were breaching the budget. Also, given the indefinite delay, the actors eventually moved on to other projects. It will be tough to reschedule their dates now."

On the professional front; Taapsee will next be seen in Tadka, Badla and Mission Mangal, while Bhumi will appear in Sonchiriya, Dolly Kitty Aur Wog Chamakte Sitare, and Takht.
