Speculations of director Anurag Kashyap's next directorial venture titled ‘Womaniya' being shelved have been doing rounds since quite some time now.

However, Kashyap has taken to his Twitter handle to rubbish any such rumor and has stated that the film is very much happening and they will start shooting from the 10th of February.

In an interview to Hindustan Times; Kashyap has been quoted saying," We start the shoot on February 10. It's just that we have not locked the title yet".

The rumor mill had suggested that Kashyap, the former co-founder of Phantom Films, has been struggling to keep his individual projects afloat ever since the production house was dissolved last year in October following sexual allegations against Vikas Bahl, a co-founder of the production house.

However; the ‘Manmarziyaan' director has refuted all such rumors, and said," We don't need backers; the film is internally backed, and produced by a major production house."

Womaniya; is based on the lives of 2 women octogenarian shooters of Utter Pradesh, Chandro and Prakashi Tomar and will have Tapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar essaying the lead roles. And for the uninitiated, the film will be produced by Reliance Entertainment.

While being quizzed about the same by Hindustan Times; one of the films lead, Taapsee Pannu said," If you want to ask the same thing everyone is asking me since morning, I can tell you from the information and knowledge I have, that all is on track. Rest we are waiting for the official announcement of the film, which is why we aren't talking about it in detail as of now."

On the professional front; both the leads of ‘Womaniya' have a lot to look forward to. While Taapsee will next be seen in Tadka, Badla and Mission Mangal; Bhumi will appear in Sonchiriya, Dolly Kitty Aur Wog Chamakte Sitare, and Takht.
