Anupam Kher starrer The Accidental Prime Minister has been in news ever since the release of its trailer for the portrayal of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the relationship he had with his party, the Congress and for Anupam Kher's impeccable resemblance to Dr. Singh's appearance as well as mannerisms.

The film has now made news again; and this time because a petition has been filed again Anupam Kher and other associated with the film for causing damage to the image of some of the top people of the political family of Congress.

The petition; has been filed by lawyer Sudhir Kumar Ojha, in Muzaffarpur's Chief Judicial Magistrate's (CJM) court. The court has admitted the case and fixed the date on the 8th of January for the hearing of the case in the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate court.

Actors and actresses who have played the roles of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi - then a national general secretary - and Priyanka Vadra have also been named in the petition alongside the movie's producer and director. Ojha said, "It hurt me and many others."
