Amitabh Bachchan would have lost his life if Balasaheb Thackrey had not done this!

Amitabh Bachchan is Bollywood's unquestioned supremo and so was Balasaheb Thackrey for his party Shiv Sena. And the two of them certainly did share a very close bond with each other in real life too!


This was proved by a revelation made by Big B during the teaser launch of the film ‘Thackrey'; which is based o the real life of the Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackrey. When asked to speak a few words about Balasaheb; the ‘Coolie' actor revealed how the Shiv Sena supremo helped him at a time he needed help the most.


As per Sr. Bachchan; who was gravely injured during the shoot of his famous film Coolie and was rushed to Bombay that was battling extremely bad weather condition, there were no ambulances that could take him (Amitabh Bachchan) to the hospital. And in such a moment of dire crisis, it was Balasaheb Thackrey who send a Shiv Sena ambulance and made sure that Mr. Bachchan reached the hospital in time to receive medical attention.


The ‘Sholay' actor was quoted saying," Balasaheb helped me when I needed it most. If it had not been for him, I would not have been alive today. We were very close to each other. I respect him a lot." 


Revealing details about his bond with Balasaheb; Amitabh Bachchan further said that he considered him as a father figure. He also mentioned how; when he invited Balasaheb for his wedding with yesteryear superstar Jaya Bhaduri (now Jaya Bachchan), he came for the wedding and greeted her like he would greet his own daughter-in-law.


Mr. Bachchan said he was also pleasantly surprised when once during his visit to the supremo's house he found his own picture in Balasaheb Thackrey's room!


Well, that sure does speak volumes about the camaraderie between the two supermo's. The much anticipated ‘Thackrey' releases on the 25th January along with Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: Queen Of Jhansi


Thackeray is; directed by Abhijit Panse, stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the Shiv Sena supremo and Amrita Rao as his wife Meenatai Thackeray. The film is written by politician Sanjay Raut and is produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Carnival Motion Pictures and Raut'ers Entertainment LLP.
