The Buzz is that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been approached for the film. The actress confirmed that she has been offered a role in the film, but nothing has been finalized yet. The film also stars Vidyut Jamwal in an important role. The film is set during the emergency period 1975 to 1977 during Indira Gandhi's rule. If Aishwarya accepts the film her role will be inspired by the late Maharani Gayatri Devi, who had defeated the Congress Party's candidate thrice and objected to the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi. Sources, however, inform that the film is inspired by a true incident, that took place in 1975. A raid was conducted on the Royal Family of Rajasthan who was being scrutinized by the then ruling government. The film will go on floors sometime soon and is slated for a January 26, 2017, release. This is not the first time that Ajay Devgn and Aishwarya Rai will be seen in a movie together they had done director Rituparno Ghosh's Raincoat way back in 2004. Currently, the actress is busy with the release of her upcoming film Sarbjit and is also shooting for Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'.
