The movie 'Kalank' was touted as producer Karan Johar's most ambitious till date has turned out to be the biggest disaster in his career. The Abhishek Varman directorial debut which had a dream cast comprising of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur managed to rake in only 66 crores which is not even close to the production budget of the film.

As one of the of biggest movies of 2019 has failed miserably, here are 5 lessons we can take away from Kalank's failure -

Varun's First Flop - From his debut movie Student of the Year, Varun Dhawan had done 11 movies and all of them were a box-office success. It almost felt like Varun Dhawan could do no wrong, but sadly his winning streak came to an end on his 12th film with 'Kalank'.

Varun - Alia Chemistry - Before Kalank, all the four films of Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt were legit hits. So much so, the actors were given the tag Shah Rukh-Kajol of their generation as their fans wholeheartedly believed that their crackling chemistry on-screen would be enough to pull any film, irrespective of its content. But Kalank proved that's definitely not the case.

Alia's Bad Choice Of Script - There is absolutely no doubt that Alia Bhatt is one of the finest actresses of her generation. Not only her craft but also her choice of scripts are commendable. Even though Shandaar was a big failure, it's was an interesting idea on paper that was ruined due to bad execution. But with Kalank Alia proved that even she can make mistakes of choosing a bad script.

Madhuri Dixit Stuck In The '90s - No one will disagree that Madhuri Dixit is beautiful and graceful and many wonderful things. The actress was definitely the queen of the '90s but sadly it's not the '90s anymore. Her brand of acting that oozes 90s drama looks simply out of place in current Bollywood times.

Aditya's Brilliant Acting - Despite all the bad things, there is something good to take from Kalank. Aditya Roy Kapur was very good in the movie and Kalank might be the most important film in Aditya Roy Kapur's career. With Kalank, Aditya has proved that he is not just another bad product of nepotism!
