Bollywood is a jungle with cut-throat competition and takes Darwin's theory of "survival of the fittest" way too seriously!

Actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar came here and struggled hard before they became the superstars they are while there are some who raised huge expectations with their exceptional performance in their first movies but proved out to be just one-hit wonders. So here are 5 Bollywood stars who were lost in darkness just after one movie.

Kumar Gaurav - 'Love Story' marked the acting debut of Kumar Gaurav and Vijayta Pandit and turned out to be an instant hit at the box office. But despite having all the good qualities, his career slumped like a palace of cards as his follow-up movies bombed at the box office and soon he was out of the league. Some of the other notable films of his career include ‘Teri Kasam' (1982), ‘Naam' (1986) and ‘Kaante' (2002) where he shared the screen space with his brother-in-law Sanjay Dutt.

Rajiv Kapoor - The fact that you belong to one of the most respected film families of Bollywood and your father was a superstar does not guarantee a long and successful career in films. The best example can be none other than Rajiv Kapoor, youngest son of veteran actor and filmmaker, Raj Kapoor. His father's last directorial ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili' brought him tremendous stardom. After that, starred in a couple of films like ‘Zabardast', ‘Lava' and ‘Aasmaan' (1984), but all turned out to be duds, almost putting a full stop to his career.

Bhagyashree - We all are familiar with the name of Bhagyashree! The beautiful actress is still recognized by the audience thanks to her debut film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya' opposite Salman Khan. After the stupendous success of ‘Maine Pyar Kiya', people thought that Bhagyashree would reign over Bollywood for a long time, but the actress decided to the only star opposite her husband Himalaya Dassani which we all know backfired.

Rahul Roy - Discovered by veteran producer and director Mahesh Bhatt, Rahul rose to fame with his debut film ‘Aashiqui' and became a national phenomenon but he later chose films which ended his career in the film quite fast. One flop after another made the audience keep itself at arm's length from him and his films. The actor came to limelight once again in 2007 when he appeared in the controversial celebrity reality show ‘Bigg Boss' and went on to win it.

Gracy Singh - The only film which comes to our mind when we remember Gracy Singh is superstar Aamir Khan's epic sports drama film ‘Lagaan'. Although she was also seen in Rajkumar Hirani's debut hit film Munnabhai MBBS but the success of the movie was taken away by Sanjay Dutt. After ‘Munnabhai M.B.B.S', Gracy Singh recklessly signed a number of bad films and delivered one flop after another. As a result, within no time she was out of Bollywood.
