Ayushmann Khurrana who featured in the superhit suspense-thriller, Andhadhun is now being remade in Tamil. Initially, it was reported that either actor Dhanush or actor Siddharth may step up to play the lead role in the remake of the Sriram Raghavan film. But producer Thiagarajan who had already remade a Sriram Raghavan film Johnny Gaddaar, purchased the rights of Andhadhun. It is also revealed that Thiagarajan was in talks with the makers of Andhadhun ever since it's release.

In a recent interview Thiagarajan said, "Every time a star expressed interest, the rate shot up, but in the end, since I've a good rapport with the production house, having bought their Special 26 rights, I managed to get the rights for this film as well." He also announced that his son Prashanth will play the lead while they are still finalising on the rest of the cast and crew. Talking about the same he said, "Prashanth has passed grade 4 in piano at the Trinity College of London. We have a grand piano in our home, and he plays on it almost daily. This role is going to be a cakewalk for him."

Andhadhun tells the story of a guy named Akash played by Ayushmann Khurrana, who is a pianist and pretends to be visually-impaired. But then gets entangled in a number of problems as he bares witness to the murder of a former actor. The film also features Tabu and Radhika Apte in the lead roles.
