Monsoon is just around the corner, It is almost the time to get out and dance in the rain. But, the pouring rain brings with it the excessive need to take care of your hair, unless you want your hair to become dry, frizzy and lifeless.

Here are some monsoon hair care tips that every girl needs to know;

.Waterproof hoodies or umbrellas: During the monsoon season many of us feel the urge to get out there and feel the excitement of the light showers fall on your skin, and I’m guessing that not many of us know about the consequences of that activity. Keeping your hair out of the way of the rain is a necessity if you want to care for your hair. Investing in waterproof hoodies and umbrellas will do a lot of good for your hair and your skin.

.Keep your hair dry: Avoid keeping your hair wet for longer periods of time during rainy days, as it might make your scalp very irritable and itchy. If you fail to avoid the contact between the rainwater and your hair, make sure you dry it off as soon as you get to a Dryer place.

.Don’t shampoo too much: Shampooing too much will make your hair and scalp extremely dry. Shampooing twice or thrice a week is ideal. In case, your hair gets dirty in the rain water, make sure you wash it off quickly with a frizz control or clarifying shampoo.

.Oil your hair: massage your scalp with oil at least twice a week. It will provide your hair with the moisture that it needs.

.Pony tails or loose waves: keeping your hair loosely tied in a pony tail or just loose waves is the ideal hairstyle for the excessive moisture accumulating monsoon. It helps hair in remaining dry.

.When wet avoid tying your hair: More than surprising it is alarming and a strict NO to tie your hair after it gets wet in the rain. The dirt and germs might get stuck on your scalp causing itching and irritation.

.Neem and Turmeric Paste: attempt to make a hair mask made up of Neem and Turmeric and apply it directly on your scalp for a chemical free hair treatment. Neem and Turmeric will help your scalp with dryness and itching in the monsoons.

.Short hair( less maintenance ): If you’ve always wanted to cut your hair short but could never gather enough courage to do it, Monsoon is the right time for you. Short hair easily dries off and is pretty easy to handle. And the good look of it is just a bonus.

.Use Wide toothed comb: During monsoon, always remember to use a wide toothed comb when your hair is wet. Your hair is the weakest when it’s wet, using a fine toothed comb will worsen your hair situation. Unless you don’t care about your hair, stick to wide toothed comb, shampoo comb or detangling comb.

.Hold back on styling products: Refrain from using styling products such as hair gel, hair setting spray etc in the rainy season. Excess use of hair straightening and curling rods is not advisable in this season.
