Padma Bhushan award-winner, Anupam Kher has seen success in over hundred plays and has over 450 films to his name is concidered to be one of the best contemporary action in the Indian cinema. Born and bred in the mountains of Shimla passed got his degree from the National School of in Delhi, where he now serves as a Chairman of the institution. Gold medalist in action started with training in Lucknow and then in Mumbai finally saw success with award winning films like Saaransh and Daddy.

Kher then went on to be critically acclaimed after Saaransh was made India's official submission for the Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film for 1984. The actor's performance made him win the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. Anupam Kher then went international and got the chance to work with directors like David O Russell, Gurinder Chaddha, Woody Allen and Ang Lee. Not just that, he is also the only actor to star next to Robert De Niro in the Oscar nominated film, Silver Linings Playbook.

He also holds the significance of winning no less than eight Filmfare Awards in a row. Also it was just recent that he has been awarded with the Dalai Lama Award for his work with underprivileged children. In 2008, all of his hardwork was finally paid off with the establishment of The Anupam Kher Foundation which focuses on spreading education among underprivileged children and provide medical care to people with life-limiting diseases. Now since 2015, Kher has been appointed as the Ambassador for the United Nation's HeForShe Campaign, which strives for gender equality.

Getting to Kher's In 2016, the actor was seen in Hollywood film, The Headhunter's Calling, and Saat Uchakkey. Neeraj Pandey's boxoffice hit biopic, M. S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. His future projects includes The Big Sick and Hotel Mumbai, both of which are Hollywood movies, whereas Kher is still fliming Toilet - Ek Prem Katha, Naam Shabana.
