It seems that Nagarjuna has failed to replicate his success Annamayya for his latest flick Om Namo Venkatesaya. Nagarjuna starrer Om Namo Venkatesaya is turning out to be a bigger flop than some of Nag's earlier disasters like 'Bhai'.
While the distributors thought that this devotional flick will have the same fate as Annamayya after a very weak opening, the film has failed to attract the audiences to bring them to the theaters. The collections are paltry from the day one and have not improved much.
Akkineni Nagarjuna's Annamayya got a bad opening too but after some good word by critics, the movie collection and became the biggest blockbuster but Om Namo Venkatesaya doesn't seem to be following the same trend. The movie is not showing any growth even as the movie is coming to end its first-week run. The other day, the film registered lowest ever collection for a big movie.
According to the reports, distributor Dil Raju is expected to incur the losses around Rs 5 crores in the Nizam area. The overseas distributor is losing 100 percent on the investment.
While 2017 has started in a good way for most of the Tollywood actors, one of the biggest stars, Nagarjuna is struggling. Chiranjeevi with 'Khaidi No 150' and Balakrishna with 'Gautamiputra Satakarni' delivered blockbusters. But Om Namo Venkatesaya has put breaks to Nagarjuna's success streak.
The failure of Om Namo Venkatesaya seems to have upset Nagarjuna a lot.
While Nagarjuna’s performance in the movie, especially in the climax had come in for a lot of appreciation, the movie couldn't impress the audience and the actor has taken this very seriously, The actor has remained holed up in residence for two days without taking any calls or meeting anyone. We hope he will be out of this soon.
