The director Rob Marshall and lead actress Emily Blunt introduced the teaser of the movie when they took on to their dedicated discussion panel at the expo.

The attendees of D23 got a magical first look of the upcoming movie 'Mary Poppins Returns'. The movie, which is all set to release next year starts off from 25 years after 1964 original, where children of Michael and Jane Banks are now all grown up into adults and are going through the grievance of a personal loss. This is where we see the entry of Mary Poppins, who alongside with her lamplighter pal Jack (Lin-Manuel Miranda) must step in to help.

The director Rob Marshall and lead actress Emily Blunt introduced the teaser of the movie when they took on to their dedicated discussion panel at the expo. According to the reports, the movie apparently will serve as the sequel to the original Julie Andrews classic while also drawing on the nook of P.L. Travers. The Disney orchestra was on hand to play the music for the discussion panel of the film, which led to the teaser of the film being screened.

The trailer opens with the lines that read "A place we hold dear, where laughter once dwelled, but soon from up above comes a new story to tell," as we see the shots of the family looking sad and in a state of grievance. The then the audiences were given the glimpse of Jack flying a kite with one of the children, and then suddenly up in the clouds, there's Mary Poppins coming down with an umbrella. 

Rob Marshall, the director of the film while talking about the movie said that he thinks that there is something so amazing about the original Mary Poppins is that it lived with him his whole life. The wonder, the joy, the music in the movie is something that he would cherish all through his life and with this movie, the director says that he wants to re-create that magic for the coming generations.
