Audioslave and Soundgarden’s Frontman and Rocker, Chris Cornell dies at the age of 52

Chris Cornell, as the frontman for the Seattle-based rock band, ‘Soundgarden’, the artist helped architect the 90’s grunge rock movement.

Singer/Rocker Chris Cornel, who garnered fame as the lead singers of the bands like Soundgarden and later and more prominently for Audioslave, has died at the age of 52. The singer who was on a tour, died on Wednesday night in Detroit and one of his representatives Brian Bumbery has come out and released a statement to The Associated Press, calling the singer’s death “sudden and unexpected” and said his wife and family were shocked by it. The statement further added that whole of the family will now be working closely with the medical examination team to find out the cause of his death. The family has also asked for some privacy at this very tragic phase of their life.

Chris Cornell was also a Grammy award winning, Golden Globe nominated singer, songwriter, guitarist, composer and lyricist. In addition to all this, the singer was also interested in philanthropy and started his very own ‘Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation’ to support children facing challenges, including homelessness, poverty, abuse and neglect.

The Singer was a pivotal part of the Grunge Movement in the early 90s, through his band ‘Soundgarden’. The band soon became a known name with a Grammy award for one of their songs titled ‘Black Hole Sun’ and ‘Spoonman’. The singer was known for his four-octave vocal range and continued to make music with ‘Soundgarden’ until the band eventually broke up in 1998. He then formed a band Alain Johannes and Natasha Shneider of the band Eleven for a solo album. The album, titled Euphoria Morning, got released in 1999. Next to come up was the band Audioslave.
