Salman Khan will be seen reprising his role from his 2012 hit Ek Tha Tiger co-starring Katrina Kaif in the sequel titled 'Tiger Zinda Hai'. While the prequel was directed by Kabir Khan, the sequel is being helmed Ali Abbas Zafar who directed Salman in 'Sultan'. The film has gone on floors and director shared pictures from the film's location in Morocco.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has also revealed the film's release date on his twitter account. “Tiger Zinda Hai to release on 22 Dec 2017 [Fri]… Christmas on 25 Dec [Mon]… SOLID 4-day weekend on the cards!” Adarsh tweeted. The on-screen pairing of Salman and Katrina will be seen together once again after a gap of 5 years. Ek Tha Tiger revolved around the story of an Indian spy and a Pakistani agent during an investigation.
Talking about the movie, director Abbas said that the sequel will be based on a political backdrop. “It is a sequel, but it’s too early to talk about it in detail. It’s a political espionage. It’s about spies, what is happening in the world today, where does India stand, what is right, wrong. It’s about all of that,” Abbas said.
If the sources are to be believed then Salman may play the role of a 70 year old man in the movie. The movie is set to clash with Sanjay Dutt biopic featuring Ranbir Kapoor and directed by Rajkumar Hirani to be released on the same date.
