Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar starrer 'Aankhen' which released in 2002 is getting a sequel after 15 years. The 2002 movie featured Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Arjun Rampal playing blind people and Amitabh Bachchan as the antagonist. The film was well appreciated for its different storyline and unique concept, in which 3 blind people try to rob a bank.
Fast forward 15 years and Producer Gaurang Doshi is ready to film the sequel in overseas locations. The first schedule of the film is expected to start in February in Mumbai, and then it will move to South Africa and eventually to Europe. The sequel will feature Amitabh Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Vidyut Jammwal. "For Mr Bachchan, we are reviving the angry young man avatar but to suit his age; it will include a completely new hairdo. His character is shown coming out of jail after 13 years so his look required being radically different from the original... also because the sequel goes on a different tangent from there. Same goes for the rest of the cast, with Arjun, Arshad and Vidyut playing the three blind men," Gaurang informed the press.
Anil Kapoor will reportedly play the role of a casino owner and the antagonist, which will be filmed at Emperor's Palace in Johannesburg. Noted designer Asa Kazingmei will design Anil's look in the film. Anil Kapoor will be seen sporting a vintage-Italian look in the film. While the plans are in place for the sequel, fans are surely going to miss Akshay Kumar in the movie.
