Moushumi Chatterjee worked with many A-listers in Bollywood. From Amitabh Bachchan and Jeetendra to Rishi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor, Moushimi shared screen space with most of the superstars at the peak of her career in some of the biggest hit films. However, Moushumi is never counted among the top actresses of Bollywood. This is because the veteran actress never took her career seriously and mostly focused on her life as a wife and mother. In an exclusive interview with us, Moushumi revealed how her pregnancy had upset Manoj Kumar during the making of Roti Kapada Aur Makaan. Even Mahesh Bhatt once taunted her for getting pregnant whenever her career took off. However, things took an ugly turn when Rajesh Khanna made an ugly remark about her pregnancy.
While shooting for a film, Rajesh Khanna questioned Moushumi about her pregnancy. He said, “Is this Vinod Mehra’s child?”
Moushumi who is married to Jayanta Mukherjee, (son of music director Hemant Kumar) was angered by Rajesh’s comment. The actress gave it back to the actor by questioning about his own children. Moushumi told, “Rajesh Khanna played dirty many times. Yes, I gave him back. I asked him, ‘Is it Rishi Kapoor’s child or yours?”

Moushumi then revealed that she buried the past and even went to see Rajesh Khanna in his last days. Moushumi told, “Today, he is no more. I went to see him also in his last stage. He was praising me in front of my younger daughter. He said to her, your maa was mad but we were all scared of her. She doesn’t believe in any nonsense.”
Later, during the interview, Moushumi also addressed her relationship rumors with Vinod Mehre that floated back in the day. She said, “He was the best man at my wedding. He used to study with my husband at Xavier’s college. And we lived in the same building.”
Denying the rumours, Moushumi said, “I never lacked anything in my married life that I would look out for something. Vinod Mehra would be the last person for me to be romantically involved.”
