Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty was a Naxalite before he entered the film industry. While in his absence a tragedy struck his family when his only brother was electrocuted and killed in a freak accident. He returned to his family and left the Naxalite fold, even though this posed a grave risk to his own life.

Mithun Chakraborty has won a black belt in the Kung Fu style in martial arts. Mithun also won the title of West Bengal State Wrestling Championship in the junior category in the year 1967. He had become a martial arts expert even before he stepped into Bollywood.

He joined the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune (FTII), graduated from there, and in a way managed to exorcise the specter of his political past. Mithun Chakraborty completed his schooling at Oriental Seminary. He earned his degree in Chemistry from the Prestigious Scottish Church College.
5. Mithun Chakraborty’s Love Affairs And Link-ups
The Indian Michael Jackson, Mithun, has various link-ups and love affairs as he rose to fame. One such relationship that stirred much controversy was with the actress Sridevi. It was being said that Sridevi and Mithun had almost tied the knot in 1985 even when the latter was already married to Yogeeta Bali.
When Yogeeta found out about the affair between her husband Mithun and Sridevi, she allegedly attempted suicide. The reports also mentioned that Sridevi had no idea about Mithun Chakraborty’s divorce from Yogeeta Bali and hence married him. Upon knowing the truth, the late actress filed for an annulment of marriage and separated in 1988. Apart from Sridevi the actor was rumored to have dated Helena Luke during his struggle days.

The superstar of Bollywood moved to Ooty to establish his Business Empire in the early 90s. He is the owner of Monarch Group of Hotels. He is into diversified business.
