Matthew Mcconaughey Does Not Consider Himself A Victim Of Sexual Abuse

Matthew McConaughey in his new memoir has shared that he was a victim of sexual abuse during his teenage years.

Reportedly, the memoir tracks the story of Matthew’s life over moments which the actor labels as green, yellow or red lights, occurrences that stimulated him to advance, pause or stop. The Interstellar star further defines how he was given a lesson at each point and how he moved on.

Matthew also discloses some realities about himself at the start of the novel to set the scene for the rest of the book, which includes the history of sexual assault.

He wrote, “I was blackmailed into having sex for the first time when I was 15. I was certain I was going to hell for the premarital sex. Today, I am merely certain that I hope that’s not the case.”

Matthew McConaughey discusses that he was mistreated by a man when he was 18 while held unaware in a van. McConaughey doesn’t include more facts, but the actor asserts that he does not consider himself a victim.

In the memoir Matthew also share details of the stormy bond between his parents, his marriage to Camila Alves, and his personal philosophy in the book.
