Jason Momoa And John Cena Are Set To Co-Star In Killer Vacation

'Killer vacation' will be the latest in a recent string of collaborations between the DC stars, Jason Momoa and John Cena.

Jason Momoa and John Cena are all set to star as the leads in the upcoming Warner Bros film Killer Vacation. The upcoming film, starring Aquaman star and the Suicide Squad actor is described as an action comedy by Variety. However, further details about the project have not been released by Warner Bros., which is producing.

The film will be the latest in a recent string of collaborations between the two DC stars. Momoa appeared in a brief uncredited part as his Aquaman character in an episode of Cena’s dark comedy superhero show Peacemaker, which streams on HBO Max, earlier this year. The two have already worked together on the upcoming Fast & Furious sequel Fast X, which is Cena’s second entry in the series after 2021’s F9, while Momoa is making his debut with the franchise.

Meanwhile, according to Variety, a source shared that Momoa and Cena met while filming Fast X and struck up a connection that led them to search for another project where they could work together. Further sources familiar with the film’s plot and tone compared it to the James Cameron–directed, Arnold Schwarzenegger–starring action film True Lies, which featured plenty of comic moments.

Killer Vacation is being scripted by Brian Gunn, the brother of Guardians Of The Galaxy director–turned–DC Studios boss James Gunn, along with Mark Gunn, who is James’ cousin. However, the film was already established at Warner Bros. prior to James Gunn being set up as co-Chairman and co-CEO of DC Studios.

John Rickard and Peter Safran are also producing the project. Both lead actors already have a strong connection to the studio. Momoa is set to appear in the sequel Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, which will be released in 2024, and he also appeared in the blockbuster first Dune film by director Denis Villeneuve.
