Nandamuri Kalyan Ram starrer ‘Bimbisara’ is an upcoming Telugu film written and directed by Mallidi Vasishta. It is the 18th film of Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. The film is going to be released on 5th August 2022. Bimbisara was launched in 2020 but delayed due to the second wave of Covid-19. It is going to be a four-part franchise.
Recently, the film was screened for NTR and Velamakucha Venkata Ramana Reddy who is known as Dil Raju in Telugu cinema. NTR and Dil Raju were impressed by the film and appreciated the Bimbisara team. Dil Raju has decided to distribute the film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He took a step forward to buy the rights of the film by offering a fancy sum to Kalyan Ram. Bimbisara has an investment of nearly Rs.40 crores while Dil Raju acquired it for Rs. 9 crores.
The trailer of the film was released by Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao (NTR) arts which received 21M views with tons of likes and positive comments. In the trailer, Kalyan Ram appeared as Bimbisara, Magadha’s ruler from the 5th century BC. Bimbisara will be seen as a narcissistic emperor who heard saying, “I am the God and I am the devil”.
Although, the story of the film does not only stick to the emperor Bimbisara and his narcissism. As per the trailer, a parallel narration with the modern-day world will also be seen. Kalyan Ram played a double role in the film. He will be seen in a negative role as well.
Bimbisara is Kalyan Ram’s most prestigious film. It is a penance-themed film. The female stars of the film include Catherine Tresa, Samyukta Menon, and Warina Hussain. The music of the film is directed by Chiratan Bhatt while Chota K Naidu and Tammi Raju handled the cinematography and editing respectively.
