Daler Mehndi Sentenced 2 Yrs Jail In Human Trafficking Case

Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi arrested after Patiala court upholds 2-year sentence in human trafficking case.

Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi has been sentenced to two years of jail time in a human trafficking case that dates back to 2003. A Patiala court on Thursday dismissed the plea and ordered his arrest.

Daler Mehndi Arrested: A District court in Patiala found Daler Mehndi guilty in an illegal immigration racket case. Patiala Additional Sessions judge HS Grewal ordered the immediate arrest of the renowned singer. In 2018, he was sentenced to two years in jail in the same case. However, he was out on bail. Today, a review hearing was held where the court dismissed his plea and uphold its previous sentence.

A total of 31 cases have been filed against Daler Mehndi and his brother Shamsher Singh. Daler Mehndi used to ask for money from people in exchange for illegally taking them abroad as a part of his dance troupe during his concerts in Canada and the USA.
