Christina Applegate talked about her condition MS which hindered her acting career.

Christina Applegate was seen in many popular television shows like Friends and movies like Bad Moms and Bad Mom 2. The actress was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis back in 2021 which affected her mentally as well as physically.

Christina Applegate could not find the courage of watching the final season of Dead to Me. It wasn’t so much that she didn’t want to, but she wasn’t sure she could bear to see herself in a different light. “I don’t like to see myself fight,” he said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times published Feb. 7. “Also, I’ve gained 40 pounds due to inactivity and medication, and it didn’t look or feel like me.”

The famous actress filmed the Netflix series while dealing with symptoms of multiple sclerosis, which included tingling, numbness, and difficulty walking. Applegate publicly announced his diagnosis in August 2021, shortly after being diagnosed during the filming of the third and final season. Applegate recently made her first major awards show appearance since her diagnosis at the Critics’ Choice Awards in January. Applegate previously also spoke about her condition back in November 2022. I’ve gained 40 pounds, I can’t walk without a cane. I want people to know that I’m very aware of all of this,” she said.”If people hate it, if people love it, if they can just focus, ‘Ooh, look at the cripple,’ then it’s not my fault.”

Weight gain is not an uncommon experience in the chronic disease community. Certain medical conditions, including MS, can limit mobility and make everyday movements incredibly painful. Not to mention common symptoms like fatigue, depression, and anxiety that can also contribute to weight gain. Medications such as glucocorticoids, a type of steroid often used to reduce flare-ups in people with MS, also list weight gain as a major side effect and can affect fluid retention and fat distribution as well.
