Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 actor Kartik Aaryan will soon be seen in the sequel of the popular film, Aashiqui 2. The actor will be seen essaying the lead role in the film, while ever since the announcement all the fans of the actor have been eagerly waiting for the makers to reveal the lead actress in the film. At the same time, there have been rumors that the television actress Jennifer Winget will be seen opposite the actor in the film. While as per the latest reports, Aashiqui 3 director, Anurag Basu has now finally addressed the rumors, here’s what he said-
Anurag Basu On Casting Jennifer Winget Opposite To Kartik Aaryan
After Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 massive success, Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan will now be featured in Anurag Basu’s film Aashiqui 3. The announcement of the film was made by the makers on September 5. However, the rest of the details about the film including the cast has been kept under wraps for now.
Meanwhile, there have been many rumors among the fans of the actor that the Bepannah actress Jennifer Winger will be seen romancing the actor in the film. While during a recent interview with India Forums, the filmmaker and director Anurag Basu opened up on the rumors about casting Jennifer Winget in the film.
Anurag said, Well, I’ve been also hearing about these rumors. However, honestly, we’re currently at a very nascent stage. We’re currently ideating about various other aspects of film-making. Casting will be locked later on.”
Shehnaaz Gill To Be Casted Opposite Kartik Aaryan In Aashiqui 3
Apart from, Jennifer Winget, many netizens were seen suggesting that the Bigg Boss fame actress Shehnaaz Gill or Shraddha Kapoor should be cast opposite Kartik Aaryan in the film. A user wrote, “I Feel Shehnaaz Gill Best For #Aashiqui3 Opposite Kartik Aaryan. #ShehnaazGill #KartikAaryan”. While others suggested the makers to cast Shraddha Kapoor, a user wrote, “WE WANT SHRADDHA KAPOOR IN AASHIQUI 3 Aarohi was the heart & soul of Aashiqui 2. If Aashiqui 3 producers want success they NEED to cast Shraddha. She and Kartik would look lovely.”

In an interview with Variety, Kartik said, “The timeless classic Aashiqui is something I grew up watching, and working on Aashiqui 3 is like a dream come true. I feel privileged yet grateful for collaborating with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt for this opportunity. I’ve been a big fan of Anurag Basu’s work and collaborating with him on this one will definitely shape me in many ways.”
Anurag also spoke about the upcoming project, “Aashiqui and Aashiqui 2 were emotions for the fans that have remained in hearts till date, the aim is to carry the legacy ahead in the best possible way. It’d be my first venture with Kartik Aaryan, who is known for his hard work, dedication, grit, and determination towards his work and I’m truly looking forward to this one.”

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan has wrapped shooting of Rohit Dhawan’s Shehzada with his Luka Chuppi co-star Kriti Sanon. He is currently filming SatyaPrem Ki Katha with his Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 co-star Kiara Advani. Apart from these movies, Kartik also has Freddy, Captain India, and Kabir Khan’s untitled next in the pipeline.
